WHEELING, W.Va. (Sept. 25) - The Wheeling University men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Notre Dame College Wednesday evening in a Mountain East Conference (MEC) match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first half consisted of a back and forth battle of possession that featured five shots by each team. 
• Notre Dame notched the opening goal of the contest in the 52^nd- minute on a breakaway opportunity. 
• Minutes later, a Wheeling penalty inside the box led to a Falcon penalty kick. The attempt was good making the deficit two goals for the Cardinals. 
• The two goal deficit proved to be enough for Notre Dame to clinch the conference victory.

MATCH NOTES

• Junior goalkeeper Josh Zimmerman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Franklin Regional) tallied four saves in the loss.
• The Falcons out-shot the Cardinals 15-to-8 for the match and held a 6-to-4 edge in shots on goal.
