HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals posted 16 kills in the first set on their way to a 25-15 win.
- Wheeling had arguably its most dominant defensive performance in a set this season when it held the Bobcats to three kills with eight errors and yielded only five points to win by 20 points.
- The Cardinals closed the match out with a 25-13 win in the third set, while forcing nine Frostburg State errors.
WHEELING LEADERS
- Francis only needed two of her match-best 24 digs to move up the all-time list.
- She eclipsed the mark of 1,943 by Fairmont State's Megan Clerico (2015-18) and now only trails current West Liberty senior Kailee Cunningham for the all-time record.
- Senior Haley Kramer (Norwalk, Ohio/Monroeville) and junior Abby Strait (Bridgeport, W.Va./Bridgeport) each finished with 10 kills to lead the Cardinals.
- Strait and sophomore Allonda Watkins (Beachwood, Ohio/Beachwood) each had four blocks.
UP NEXT
