HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both goalkeepers got warmed up with shots on goal in the first eight minutes, but a ball from senior Lucas Fievet (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) that caught the crossbar in the ninth minute was the first real scoring chance for either side.
  • Fievet found the back of the net to propel the Cardinals to a 1-0 lead in the 17th-minute off of a cross from a corner-kick.
  • After Wheeling took the lead into halftime, Concord knotted the game up in the 56th-minute.
  • Less than seven minutes later, the Mountain Lions scored again to take a 2-1 lead in the match off of a corner kick.
  • The Mountain Lions limited Wheeling to just one more shot attempt to close out the match and deal the Cardinals the loss.
MATCH NOTES

  • Concord held a 19-to-12 advantage in total shots, and a 6-to-5 edge in corner kicks.
