Cardinals fall at No. 8 Charleston, 3-0

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (Oct. 17) – The Wheeling University Men's soccer team came up short 3-0 at No. 8 Charleston in a Mountain East Conference (MEC) matchup Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Neither team found the back of the net after a hard fought first half, leaving the first half in a scoreless tie.
  • The Golden Eagles got on the board with a goal in the 51st minute to take a 1-0 lead early in the second half
  • Charleston extended its lead in the 69th minute to increase the Golden Eagle lead to 2-0.
  • Charleston eventually tallied a third goal late in the match to seal the the team's 10th win in MEC play this season.

  • Sophomore goalkeeper James Serman (Auburndale, Fla. / Auburndale) came up with five saves on the matchup.
