WJU Men's Soccer Deadlocked in Goalless Draw

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit Men's Soccer team ended Thursday's nonconference matchup against Seton Hill deadlocked in a goalless draw.

After 20 minutes of overtime, neither team could find the back of the netting despite each team recording 10 shots and three shots on goal.

Late in the second half, the Cardinals had their best chance at a scoring opportunity when a corner kick was mishandled and bounced in front of the opponent's goal. However, the Wheeling Jesuit attack came up short in redirecting the ball towards goal.

Pedro Crespo looked dangerous for the Cardinals, shooting four times with two shots on target.

Per Stenseth was the biggest threat for the Griffens, nearly converting on both of his shots.

The Wheeling Jesuit Men's Soccer team will face the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown at 2 p.m. on Saturday in their next game. The game will be played at Bishop Schmitt Field, where the West Virginia Soccer Association will be promoting Youth Soccer Month.
