WHEELING, W.Va. – In a complete team effort, the Cardinals held home serve Friday night. Wheeling Jesuit used its total team depth and eased past Notre Dame College, 3-0, in Mountain East Conference volleyball action.

The Cardinals (12-4/3-0 MEC) built comfortable leads in the opening two sets, 18-10 and 19-10, and won them by identical 25-15 and 25-15 tallies. The Falcons (7-9/0-2 MEC) made their run of the night and pulled to within 23-21 late in set three, before the home team netted the final two points for the 25-21 final.

WJU middle blocker Haley Kramer paced the home attack for the second time this week with 13 kills, a .579 hit percentage and four block assists. Maddy Smyth added nine winners with a .471 attack percentage. Casey Meyer was right behind with nine kills of her own and a .438 hit percent.

Abby Strait added five kills in 11 swings off to go with four blocks. Makenna Babb registered six kills and nine digs. Stephanie Sylvester dished 41 assists and dug 12 attacks. Audrey Francis dug 15 attacks.

Abby Witucky chipped in three assists and Taylor Weickert had a dig.

Both Melissa Maczuzak and Mary Kate McHugh downed nine kills for Notre Dame.

WJU completes its home MEC weekend with a 1 p.m. Saturday meeting with Urbana.
