FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Wheeling Jesuit lost a pair of games to the Fairmont State Falcons by the score of 2-0 on Sunday. Michael Finch and Benjamin Standiford gave the Cardinals two quality starts, but WJU was unable to score in the 16-innings played.

The Cardinals and Falcons play two more games tomorrow, Monday April 10 beginning at 1 p.m.

Game 1 notes:
Winning pitcher – Michael Stout
Losing pitcher – Michael Finch

Recap:
Finch tossed six innings and allowed just two earned runs to score in the bottom of the second inning. The Cardinals finished with just three base hits, one each from Dalton Davis, RJ Harris and Logan Schickler.

Game 2 notes:
Winning pitcher – Matt Maiers
Losing pitcher – Bejnamin Standiford

Recap:
As was the case in game one, Fairmont State plated two runs and outhit the Cardinals on their way to a doubleheader sweep. FSU scored once in the third and once in the fifth.

Standiford tossed six innings and allowed just two earned runs while fanning six Falcons. Nick Luciano threw two scoreless innings for WJU, striking out two and allowing just one hit.

Drake May and Matthew Angelini finished 2-4 in game two while Davis and Brock Wenger went 1-4 at the plate.
