WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Jesuit women's lacrosse team looks to take care of its business Sunday afternoon. 

The Mountain East Conference's top-ranked Cardinals welcome the Notre Dame College Falcons to town for a 4 p.m. match on the turf of Bishop Schmitt Field. 
 
Sunday's game notes:
The two clubs have met each of the past four seasons, with the series being split evenly at two games apiece.  
 
Wheeling Jesuit has won its last three outings, all of which have been conference matches. The Cardinals are 4-1 in their last five and are 5-1 on their home turf. 

Notre Dame began the year 2-3 but has dropped its last five matches. The Falcons are 0-3 in the MEC and 0-5 on the road.  
 
2016 meeting: 
Wheeling Jesuit shot its way to an 11-3 lead at the half and would cruise to a 17-6 victory. Kate Calder scored the first goal of the afternoon before Paige Plesich and Elizabeth Hales added goals within the first eight minutes to give WJU a comfortable lead. Midway through the match, the Cardinals completed an 11-0 run to secure the win. The run ranged from the 14:26 mark of the first half to the 16:56 mark in the second. 
 
Kori Hickman led the way with seven points, as she assisted on six goals and scored one of her own. Elizabeth Hales shot 15 times, scored five times and added a pair of assists for her seven points. Hales also finished with a team-best four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Paige Plesich finished with four points and Mary Burns added three. Markie Wright and Holly Deckert also scooped up four ground balls each. Deckert forced four turnovers while Wright caused two. Lyndsay Carpenter added three ground balls and four caused turnovers to the mix while Brianna Wahle contributed three of each. Olivia Krock finished with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. 
 
WJU Stat leaders: 
Hales leads WJU in points (51), goals (32), and assists (19). Hickman remains in second with 34 points, 15 goals and 19 assists. Plesich and Burns remain deadlocked at 21 points each, as they both have scored 14 goals and assisted on seven other scores. Carpenter (11) and Wright (10) complete the double-digit point scorers for the Cardinals. 
 
On the defense, Carpenter has caused a team-best 29 turnovers while scooping up 39 ground balls. Deckert has forced 20 turnovers and grabbed 31 ground balls while Taylor Quigg comes in with 25 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Wahle adds 10 caused turnovers and 17 ground balls to the mix. Goalie Maire Austin ranks fourth in ground balls (23) and has stopped 92 shots this season. 
 
Notre Dame College Stat leaders: 
Darbie Barkman continues to be the focal point of the Falcon offense. Barkman has scored 33 times and dished out eight assists. On the defense, Barkman has caused 14 turnovers and picked up 19 ground balls. Ashlee Boyko adds 16 goals and six assists to the offensive totals and 16 caused turnovers and 23 ground balls on the defensive side. Taylor
