Cardinals Ready for MEC North Adjusted Showdown

WHEELING, W.Va. – As the regular season heads to the final five playing dates, the Wheeling Jesuit softball team readies for the Mountain East Conference North Division adjusted showdowns against Shepherd and Fairmont State.

Due to forecasted Saturday rain, the Cardinals (16-20/10-12 MEC North) has moved back its two home doubleheaders versus the Rams (25-16/11-9 MEC North) and Falcons (14-24/7-13 MEC North) to Sunday and Monday afternoons. WJU will now host Shepherd at 3 p.m. Sunday and entertains Fairmont State on Monday starting at 1 p.m.

WJU looks to start a final two-week surge starting Sunday. The Cardinals trail the Rams by two games within the North Division standings. WJU will try to duplicate its April 1^st success at Shepherd where it swept a doubleheader, 3-1 and 2-0.

On the other hand, WJU will attempt to reverse its April 2^nd fortunes against Fairmont State. The Falcons secured 2-1 and 6-5 wins over the Cardinals.
