ATHENS, W.Va. – The Cardinals late burst ran out of time Wednesday afternoon. Wheeling Jesuit received a Micah Miller goal with 27 seconds left, but it proved to not be quite enough as it fell, 4-3, at Concord in women's soccer.

The Mountain Lions (9-6/7-6 Mountain East Conference) received two Pilar Elias first-half scores and she completed a 'hat trick' to push her team ahead, 4-2, at 62:43. WJU (4-11/3-10 MEC) turned up the late pressure until Miller's goal in the final minute of play for the 4-3 final.

After Elias' opening goal in the 14^th minute, Emily Hartley tied the match, 1-1, at 18:33. Kayla Klock took a pass from Maria Ruggery, who served the ball from the side, for a 2-1 lead with 36:40 off the first-half clock. Elias tied the match for the home team at 38:47.

Cardinals goalie Megan Herter posted four saves in net, while the Mountain Lions held a 15-9 shot advantage.

WJU makes it fourth of five-straight road matches this Sunday, Oct. 22, at Shepherd University in a 3:30 p.m. match.
