WJU Basketball Battles WV State Thursday Night

INSTITUTE, W. Va After a 2017-opening sweep in two drastically different games, the Wheeling Jesuit basketball teams travel to battle West Virginia State Thursday night hardwood twinbill.
 
In a clash of two of the top Mountain East Conference women's programs to date, the No. 18 Cardinals (10-1/5-0 MEC) face the Yellow Jackets (6-5/4-1 MEC) at 5:30 p.m. For the men, the No. 8 Cardinals (10-1/4-1 MEC) follow against the Yellow Jacket (5-6/2-3 MEC)
 
On Tuesday night after a dreadful opening half, the WJU women rallied for a 39-22 second half advantage and eventual 53-47 win over Charleston. In the late game, the Cardinals men established themselves early in the game and led the final 39 minutes for a 94-77 victory over the Golden Eagles.
