Cards Drop Road Contest, Miller Scores First Collegiate Goal

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – In a late season Mountain East Conference matchup, the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals fell to the Notre Dame Falcons, 3-1.
 
Notre Dame College (12-1-2, 11-1-2 MEC) scored the first two goals of the contest, scoring in the fourth and 22nd minutes of play. WJU (5-10-1, 4-9-1 MEC) closed the gap to a one-goal contest in the 24th minute when freshman Micah Miller scored her first collegiate goal.
 
Miller, a Wyomissing, Pennsylvania native scored the lone Cardinal goal as she blistered a shot past the opposing keeper from 35 yards out. Miller accounted for four of the seven WJU shots in the match.
 
The Falcons added the game's final goal in the 56th minute of play.
 
Emily Hartley fired two shots on the afternoon for the Cardinals while Kayla Klock took responsibility for the other.
 
WJU goalkeeper Hannah Thompson tied her season high in saves with eight.  
 
The Cardinals host Urbana University on Wednesday, October 26 in a MEC doubleheader, with the match beginning at 5:30 p.m.
