WHEELING, W.Va. – After six-straight victories, the Cardinals rugby team afternoon on the pitch. Army ran out to a big lead and went on a for a 53-7 win over Wheeling Jesuit in a D1A Rugby East match.
Michael Gromecki ran in for the lone WJU (6-2) try at 71:19. Joji Vakasisikakala added the two-point conversion to complete the home scoring.
The Cadets scored all 30 first-half points and increased the margin to 13 points, before the Cardinals score.
WJU returns to the road next Saturday afternoon, Oct. 22, in a 1 p.m. match at the University of Buffalo.
