Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. , Feb. 23, 2015 – The Wheeling Jesuit Women's Basketball team played a rare Monday night game against West Virginia Wesleyan after the game was cancelled on Saturday due to inclement weather. Jesuit had four players score in double digits as the Cardinals downed the visiting Bobcats, 67-54.

Junior guard
Breanna Butler hit a three-pointer to start the scoring on the night for the Cardinals. With the shot, Butler reached the 1000-point plateau in her career as only a junior.
Butler led the Cardinals in the first half with 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Jesuit played solid defense in the first half, holding the Bobcats to just 20 points in the half. Jesuit took a 36-20 lead into the intermission.
In the first 20 minutes, the Cardinals outshot WV Wesleyan 51.7% to 32.1% from the field and 80% to 25% from beyond the arc.
The Bobcats pulled to within 10 points at the 8:47 mark of the second half on a three-pointer by Allie Browne. But Wheeling Jesuit hit 50% of its shots in the second half to win going away, 67-54.
Butler finished the game with 16 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Junior guard
Jaila Bryant had 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in 30 minutes of play.
Wheeling Jesuit got good post play out of its two sophomore forwards.
Jaana Motton had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Meanwhile,
Lydia Hyburg finished with 12 points and four rebounds.
"It is a great accomplishment for Bre to reach 1000 points in her junior year. Bre has been an outstanding teammate and captain who has helped form a strong foundation as we continue to grow our program," stated Head Coach Deb Buff.
The victory improves the overall record of Jesuit Women's Basketball to 17-7 and 14-6 in the Mountain East Conference. Wheeling Jesuit returns to action this Thursday against WV State at 5:30 pm in the McDonough Center. The WV State game was moved from Tuesday night to Thursday night, keeping Wheeling Jesuit from playing two nights in a row.
