Box Score Wheeling, W.Va. – Wheeling Jesuit Women's Basketball returned home to the McDonough Center Monday night to play the University of Charleston Golden Eagles on one day's rest.  
Two three-pointers, one by 
Breanna Butler and the other by 
Kylie Frizell, got the Cardinals out to a 12-7 lead.   
Then, Charleston went to work down low and tied the game at 14 with 7 minutes left to play in the first half. 
Both teams traded three-pointers as the game stayed deadlocked at 19 at the 3:15 mark.  Charleston's Deja Gibson hit a three-pointer at 1:15 to go ahead 24-21.  Then LeAnne Ross hit another three-pointer right before the half to put Charleston ahead 27-21 going into the intermission.  
Charleston shot 50% from beyond the arc in the first half.  Jesuit shot 42.9 from 3-point land.  
Jaila Bryant and 
Kylie Frizell each had 6 points in the first half to lead the Cardinals.  
Wheeling Jesuit battled all the way back to tie the game 41-41 thanks to a 
Kylie Frizell three-pointer at 11:25.  One trip down the court later, 
Mariah Callen dished the ball off to 
Breanna Butler for an easy layup.  The Cardinals went ahead 43-41.  
As play continued, Charleston twice hit big three-point shots to regain the lead. 
Play went back and forth with the lead changing hands multiple times.   At 3:18, a reverse layup by 
Jaana Motton put the Cardinals ahead 51-50.  
Charleston hit pair of free throws to take the lead back 52-51.  After a Jesuit miss,  Charleston turned the ball over the next time down the court and 
Jaana Motton made them pay. Motton hit a layup in the paint to go ahead 53-52. 
On the next trip down the court, Charleston's Kiara Johnson hit a shot directly under the basket, putting Charleston up 54-53 with 37 seconds left. 
Jesuit traveled the next trip down the court. 
On the in bounds, Jesuit put the full court press on and 
Jaila Bryant made a spectacular play to intercept the ball at midcourt.  As play continued, Bryant was called for an offensive foul with 7 seconds left to give possession back to Charleston. 
On the inbounds, Jesuit fouled Charleston's Nichole Perry, who hit both foul shots to put the Golden Eagles ahead 56-53.  The game ended with a 
Breanna Butler three-point attempt that missed, letting Charleston off the ropes with a 56-53 victory. 
Jaila Bryant finished the game with 19 points, hitting 6 of 12 from the field and 7 of 9 free throw attempts.  Bryant also contributed five rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  
"I am extremely proud of our defensive effort tonight.  We also outrebounded a bigger team.  This loss hurts as UC is tied for first in the conference," stated Head Coach Deb Buff. 
The loss drops the Cardinals' overall record to 11-7 and 8-6 in the Mountain East Conference.  Jesuit Women's Basketball returns to action this coming Thursday when they host a 5:30pm game against University of Virginia–Wis
