SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Following a week off, the Wheeling Jesuit volleyball team showed no signs of rust as it eased past Shepherd University, 3-0, in Mountain East Conference action.
The No. 6 Cardinals (17-3/5-0 MEC) took care of the Rams (8-9/3-2 MEC) by set scores of 25-13, 25-9 and 25-11. WJU hit .438 as a team attack percentage.
Kayce Krucki blistered the net with 13 kills and hit .522 to lead the Cardinal effort. Libero
Jessica Thobe registered 18 digs and two service aces, while Sam Obringer added 12 digs and two aces herself.
Wheeling Jesuit will enjoy the weekend, before it travels to face Fairmont State Tuesday night, Oct. 13, starting at 7 p.m.

The Cardinals scored the opening eight points and 11 of the first 12 and started set two, 11-1. Krucki finished the set with two kills for a 25-9 final.
The Wheeling Jesuit strong night continued in the third set. The visitors opened a 11-4 margin and expanded it to 20-6 minutes later. Blank ended the match with another solo block for the WJU sweep.
