The Golden Eagles (13-12) held slim early leads in each of the three sets, before the No. 6 ranked Cardinals (21-3) went on for the straight-sets win (25-18, 25-19, 25-17).

"We had super fan support tonight as the crowd was amazing for us," said WJU head coach Christy Benner. "It was
great competition against an always great team in Clarion."

Against a taller Clarion frontline, WJU pounded a .362 team hitting percentage with 45 kills and only seven attack errors in the three sets. The Cardinal frontline forced 22 Golden Eagle errors and posted 10 total team blocks.

Maddy Smyth downed 13 kills to lead the home hitters. Emma Schleucher and Haley Kindall added eight kills apiece. Schleucher chipped in two aces and Kindall five blocks. Kayce Krucki and Lauran Graves hit seven kills each and combined for a .387 hitting percentage.
