Geneva, Ohio - The Jesuit men's and women's swimmers won 13 of 28 vs. Fairmoint State University and Lake Erie College at the USA Olympic Training Center at SPIRE Institute, Geneva OH.
The meet was highlighted by double victories by
Vanessa Gipson,
Jade Worrels, and
Jandre Strauss.
Gipson won both the 1000 yard freestyle and the 500 yard freestyle. Worrels won her specialties in the 200 and 100 yard breaststroke followed by Strauss in the same men's events.
Victories piled up from
Amber Saint Clair in the 200 backstroke, Kuba Skrzypczak in the 100 back,
Rachel Yontz in the 200 butterfly, and
Anna Davis in the 100 freestyle.
The Cardinals won 3 of the 4 relay events as well.
Alexis Anderson joined Saint Clair, Worrels, and Davis for a victory in the 400 medley relay. Strauss and Kuba were joined by
Jakub Swierczynski and
Vincent Zellin to win their 400 medley relay.
The women's team of
Danielle Pekular, Davis, Worrels, and Anderson swam to victory in the 400 free relay.
The Cardinals resume competition on January 24
th as they travel to their Appalachian Swimming Conference rivals, Urbana University, for a 1:00pm competition.
