The Wheeling University Women's Swimming Team for their first victory of the season this afternoon, as they welcomed Lenoir-Rhyne to the Alma Grace McDonough Center Natatorium. It was a tightly contested fight, but the Cardinals came out on top by 132-113.

Taking the high point of the meet for Wheeling was Senior Grace Moorley. Moorley would take the fourth highest point of the meet overall, and would finish the afternoon with two golds and two silvers. Moorley took home two early season bests with her efforts in the 100 and 200 freestyle, swimming 57.26 and 2:05.33 to shave off 9.77 and 0.77 seconds respectively. Lydie Sprecher rounded out the fifth highest performance of the meet, and was part of the 200 freestyle relay team with Moorley that took gold. Sprecher swam her leg in 26.53 seconds to lead off the Cardinals, whilst Moorley seam 25.86 seconds in the anchor spot to seal the first place.

Moorley's gold in the 200 freestyle was good enough for the third best performance of the meet overall, whilst Sophomore Giulia Liberti took the fifth best performance with her time of 1:10.57 in the 100 breaststroke to take gold. The Cardinals had four of the top 10 performances of the meet, with Lydie Sprecher and Grace Moorley coming in again in what was an impressive afternoon for the two of them. Sprecher took the sixth best performance for her time of 25.89 in the 50 freestyle to take gold, whilst Moorley's season best in the 100 freestyle was good enough for 10th.

The Wheeling University Women's Swimming team will look to build on today's momentum when they return to the pool on November 7th to face IUP.
