Eleventh-seeded Wheeling Jesuit stayed alive with a 5-0 win over Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon at the Moyer Complex.

Ali Smith (11-14) tossed a complete game shutout for the Cardinals to pick up the victory. She gave up six hits and struck out two and did not allow a free pass.

Angie Reddick went 2-for-2 with a solo home run to go with a pair of walks. Erika Jusko went 2-for-4 and belted a solo home run for the Cardinals.

Nicole Spuhler had two hits for NDC in the loss. Ashley Hall suffered the loss lasting 6.1 innings giving up six runs (two earned) with two strikeouts and three walks.

Wheeling Jesuit (19-32) went ahead early in the first inning taking advantage of a pair of NDC errors and turning them into runs. WJU kept its lead at 2-0 until the sixth when it added another unearned victory. The Cardinals put the game away in the seventh with back-to-back solo blasts off the bats of both Reddick and Hall.
