WJU Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Tiffin in First GLIAC Loss

Box Score WHEELING, W.Va.---The Wheeling Jesuit women's lacrosse team fell to the Dragons of Tiffin University on Sunday afternoon by a score of 19-4. As a result, the Cardinals moved to 2-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and 4-6 overall while the Dragons improved to 3-0 in the GLIAC and 5-6 overall.
 
Tiffin found the back of the net first, however, WJU quickly responded with a goal. At 23:30, Allie Fetty recorded Jesuit's first goal to tie the game at 1-1. The Dragons used a 6-0 run for a 7-1 advantage, and the two teams traded scores before the half ended. Fetty connected with a free position shot for the Cardinals second goal, but Jesuit trailed 8-2 at the break.
 
The Cardinals opened the second half with a goal as Jessie Tufnell found Molly Parker for a goal. The Dragons followed with five goals before WJU rattled the cage again. Tufnell recorded Jesuit fourth goal, but Tiffin ended the game with a 6-0 run.
 
The Cardinals will be back in action on Thursday, April 11, traveling to Slippery Rock University. First draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.
