Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD, W.Va.---The Wheeling Jesuit softball team swept Bluefield State College on the road Friday afternoon. The Cardinals handed out a pair of shutouts while only allowing two hits in 14 innings for 6-0 and 10-0 victories. With the sweep, Jesuit moves to 12-12 in the WVIAC and 19-25 overall while Bluefield State slipped to 2-38 overall and 0-23 in league play.

Ashley Nichols hurled a complete game shutout in game one, allowing one hit and two walks with seven strikeouts. The Cardinals scored six runs on 11 hits as
Jarah Ice,
Lorian Tharp and
Angie Reddick led the Cardinals' offense with two hits each. Ice and Tharp each went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Tharp doubled twice while Reddick went 2-for-3 with a single and a double.
Rachel Conrad added a homerun, and
Aleecia Sunagel,
Courtnie Snyder,
Ali Smith and
Sammy Macioce all had singles.
In game two,
Erika Jusko and Smith combined for the 10-0 shutout. Jusko hureled the initial three innings, allowing one hit with five strikeouts, and Smith finished the final two hitless innings with two strikeouts.
Jesuit scored 10 runs on seven hits.
Victoria Vuljanic led the Cardinals with a 2-for-2 performance with a triple and two RBI. Reddick homered, and Conrad recorded two RBI and two runs scored. Ice, Tharp and Jusko had hits.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, April 27 against Concord University at 2 p.m.
