Box Score EDINBORO, Pa.---The Wheeling Jesuit women's lacrosse team fell 17-2 on the road to Edinboro University. The Cardinals (5-9) played a man-down the entire game as the Fighting Scots (7-6) used a six-goal run to closeout the first half for a 12-2 advantage.
Allie Fetty led the Cardinals' offense with two points, and
Jessie Tufnell followed with one. Fetty assisted the Cardinals' first goal as Tufnell fired a shot past the Edinboro goalie at the 23-minute mark. Tufnell interrupted a three goal run by the Fighting Scots to keep the game close at 3-1. After three additional goals by Edinboro, Fetty buried a free position shot for the Cardinals second goal, 6-2.
Annie Campbell led the Cardinals' defensive efforts with a team-high five ground balls and three caused turnovers while Christina Bass followed with two ground balls, three draw controls and one caused turnover.
Hannah Lazuka earned the loss between the pipes, recording seven saves and four ground balls.
Wheeling Jesuit will be back in action at the James LaRosa Complex for Senior Night on Friday, April 19 against Notre Dame College. First draw is scheduled for 7 p.m.
