Zach Larue enters his first second season as a student assistant coach on Shane Brown's Wheeling Wrestling staff. After wrestling with the Cardinals two seasons ago, Larue joins the coaching staff to help continue to grow the program by working with the mid-weight classes.
Larue transferred to Wheeling from Mount Union University, and made an immediate impact on the Cardinals, finishing 12-5 (.706) across 17 matches during the year. Of his 12 wins on the season, nine of those came via pinfall, including a 3-1 day at the JCU Open, where he won all three matches via pinfall. When he was out due to injury, Larue would assist on the sidelines, providing coaching and guidance for his fellow teammates.
Larue earned his undergraduate degree from Wheeling University in 2025 and is currently pursuing a Master's degree.
