Karly Niesen joins Christy Benner's staff for her second season as a Graduate Assistant. Niesen joins the Wheeling Volleyball coaching staff after a decorated five-year career as the Cardinal's setter from 2020 - 2024.
During her playing career, Niesen was a Five-Time All-MEC honoree, including being named the Mountain East Conference's Volleyball Player of the Year during both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. She is a 4X All-Region player and a 3X All-American, helping to lead the Cardinals to the NCAA DII Atlantic Regional Tournament in each of her five seasons with the Cardinals. Niesen finished her career as the program's all-time leader in assists with 6,303, and became just the 22nd setter in NCAA DII history to reach the 6,000 career assist mark.
Niesen is currently studying to receive her Master's of Business Administration at Wheeling University, and graduated with a Bacehlor's from Wheeling in 2024.
