Neomy Cockett enters his third season as a member of Head Coach Ben Healy's Cross Country and Track & Field staff during the 2026-2027 season. He works primarily with the team's throwers, while helping coordinate day-to-day operations of both the Track & Field and Cross Country programs.
During the 2025-2026 season, he took a young group of Cardinal throwers and helped them grow in the circle and on the runway. He works with the Javelin, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, and shot putters for the Cardinals and helped coach two All-MEC honorees. The first was sophomore Felix Manyani, who reached the NCAA DII provo mark in the javelin, and was the only Cardinal to hit the provisional mark in his event this season. Additionally, freshman Autumn Kerchner would earn Honorable Mention All-MEC honors in the Discus Throw, while the Cardinals had two throwers make the finals of the event at the 2026 MEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Along with his work with the throwers, Cockett also assisted in running practices throughout the year, while helping coordinate meals and game travel for the team.
During the 2024-2025 season, Cockett joined the coaching staff for the spring semester and worked with the throwers during outdoor track & field season, He was tasked with helping develop the thrower group, and saw several of his athletes increase their distances during the year.He would help Amber Yoho and Mariah Pelkey each set PR's throughout the year, while setting a strong foundation for the Cardinals.
As a student-athlete, Cockett competed for two seasons at Louisiana Tech and two seasons at Iowa Western Reserve. He started his collegiate career at Iowa Western Eserve and in 2022 was the NJCAA Runner-up in the Hammer Throw during Outdoor Track & Field. He would transfer to Louisiana Tech for the final two seasons of his career, where he was a pimary thrower in the Weight Throw. He would finish ninth at the CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and a third place finish in the Hammer Throw at the Warhawk Classic.
Cockett would graduate from Louisiana Tech in May 2024 with his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He is currently pursuing a Master's in Business Administration at Wheeling University.
