Juan Castillo

Juan Castillo enters his first season as a Graduate Assistant on Head Coach Jack Shearer's staff during the 2026 season. It is his second year overall with the Wheeling Athletics Department, where he previously served as the Men's and Women's Graduate Assistant during the 2025-2026 season.

With the Women's Swimming program, Castillo would help coordinate team travel, as well as helping the swimmers with any needs they may have on competition days. This included doing laundry, coordinating team meals, and providing support for the team on the pool deck. He would also assist Head Coach Will Hughes in timing during events, tracking team splits in races throughout the season.

Prior to his time as a Graduate Assistant Coach, Castillo would play for four seasons as a member of the Wheeling University Men's Soccer team as a defender. During that time he appeared in seven games for the Cardinals, totaling 95 minutes on the defensive side of the ball. He would finish his career taking one shot for the Cardinals, while helping to push the ball up the field.

Castillo graduated from Wheeling University with a undergraduate degree in the spring of 2025, and is currently studying to obtain his Master's in Business Administration at Wheeling.
