Wall 25

Ryan Wall

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, by way of Leyland, England, Ryan was a professional academy player with Bolton Wanderers F.C. (England).  He then moved to the U.S. to play collegiately at NAIA powerhouse Rio Grande University (4-year starter and All-MOC Conference selection), where, as team Captain he helped lead them to the program’s first-ever MOC conference championship, Great Lakes Regional Tournament Final, and top 10 national ranking. After graduation Ryan spent three seasons on staff at Wheeling University as coach Jim Regan’s top assistant, helping WJU to two regular-season titles and the 2003 WVIAC conference championship.

While building a career in international business, Wall also coached youth soccer for the West Virginia Olympic Development Program, FC Wheeling United, Fury FC (Morgantown), and more recently WV Highlanders FC, an adult amateur club Wall founded in 2021.  WV Highlanders is an elite program for college age/level players that runs through the summer months and competes in the Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL). In just four seasons Wall has led Highlanders to OVPL Valley Conference 2nd and 1st place finishes, and OVPL Championship Final birth.

Wall earned USSF and English Football Association Coaching Licenses as well as Irish Football Association UEFA B Courses. He has an MA International Politics from the University of Essex (England), and a Masters of Business Administration from Wheeling University.  He resides in Wheeling with his wife and three children.
