Mara Moore

Mara Moore enters her second season as a Graduate Assistant for the Wheeling Men's and Women's Swimming team under Head Coach Corey Kephart, and her second season as an assistant softball coach on Head Coach Sara Pelegreen 's staff in 2023-2024.

In her duties as a graduate assistant, Moore helps run the day to day operations for the Wheeling Men's and Women's swim teams. Some of her duties include coordinating meals for the team, helping with team travel and budgeting, as well as other day to day operations. During Gamedays, Moore assists with running the team's timing system, insuring that proper times are kept for the racers in each event.

For the Wheeling Softball team, Moore works primarily with the catchers, and tutored two of the best hitters on the Cardinal's team in Maddie Munoz and Madison George. Munoz was the team's leading hitter with a .397 batting average and George added a .327 average to the team. Behind the plate, Munoz was tied for the MEC lead in base runners caught stealing with 11. Munoz had her best defensive season for the Cardinals and looks to continue that success into her senior season.

A former catcher herself, Moore played four seasons at Alfred University where she had a career .175 batting average and 14 RBI in four seasons. Her senior year turned out to be the best of her career, when she hit .208 with 10 hits, two doubles, and five RBI
Her success continued into the classroom that season, when she earned a 2022 Easton/National FastPitch Coaches Association Scholar All-American award.

Moore is currently working towards her MBA at Wheeling University.
