Mike Jacques

Wheeling Jesuit University promotes Mike Jacques from volunteer to Grad assistant.

Mike returns to WJU after completing his first year as a volunteer assistant.  Mike did a great job as a volunteer coach being responsible for the goalies, face-off men, and running the box.  His responsibilities have been increased and he will be a key part in in our success.

From 2006-2009 Jacques was a four year starter and team captain.  Mike was a short stick defensive midfielder who excelled shutting down other teams middies and creating transition for the team.  As a captain his leadership was very good on and off the field.  Prior to his career at WJU Mike excelled playing Junior B indoor lacrosse in Sarnia Ontario for the Sarnia Pacers.

Coach Jacques currently resides in Wheeling while seeking his masters degree in organizational leadership.

Coach Sothoron on assistant Mike Jacques: “Mike was a senior captain for me in 2009.  He stayed on as a volunteer assistant running the box for us last season.  He did a great job and gained valuable experience.  He will work primarily with the goalies and face-off men this season.  He will also assist me with the offense.  Mike is a hard worker who is dedicated to this team and program.  He is a great asset for this team.”
