Maria Glukhova

Maria Glukhova, a native of Russia, has been competitively swimming for almost 15 years. She came to the United States from Moscow, having been spotted and recruited by the Syracuse University Swim Team in 2006.

In Syracuse, she swam breaststroke and IM while obtaining a BA degree, with a dual major in Political Science and Russian & Central European studies, graduating in December 2009.

Following graduation Maria held a 6-month internship position working for the Foundation for Russian American Economic Cooperation in Seattle, WA. 
In 2011, she earned a post-graduate degree in Physical Education from the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism, while coaching 8-18 year olds at the Brooklyn Seals swim club at the Shorefront Y in Brooklyn, New York. 

Outside of work, Maria enjoys playing tennis, running, traveling, reading classical literature, listening to Russian music, spending time with her family and her dachshund Phil. 

She is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration degree at Wheeling Jesuit University.
