Christy Schoolcraft enters her 11th season as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Wheeling University Athletics Department in 2024-25. Schoolcraft oversees all Athletic Training duties for Wheeling's 22 varsity sports and schedules coverage for games and practices as well as physicals for Athletes.
She works to ensure that all athletes are cleared before participating in practices and games and also ensures coaches have all their necessary NCAA Required CPR certifications. She has been on the sidelines for numerous big Cardinal moments over the years, including the 2023 MEC Championship run for the Wheeling Volleyball team.
Schoolcraft is responsible for the treatment and care of all Wheeling University Student-Athletes and oversees all rehab and treatment procedures on campus. She helps with student-athlete physicals, impact testing, and all other medical needs for the students. She also helps lead Wheeling's CPR training program, helping to get coaches certified in CPR and making sure that certification is up to date heading into each season.
Schoolcraft has been with Wheeling for several years working in the Athletic Training department and serving as an advisor to the Athletic Training major. She has been on the sidelines for many big Wheeling Athletics moments throughout the years and makes sure that Wheeling's athletes are in top condition when they take the floor.
Christy lives with her husband John Schoolcraft and their three kids JD, Logan, and Kai
