Martin 2025

Miguel Martin

Miguel Martin enters his first season as an Assistant Coach on Brandon Regan's coaching staff in 2025 after serving as a graduate assistant for the previous two years. He works primarily with the team's forwards to help generate offense. Martin is coming off from a summer season with the Wheeling Highlanders of the Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL).

In 2024, Martin stressed consistency with the offense to get onto the scoreboard, and in the 11-games spanning from September 22nd to October 30th, the Cardinals were able to get on the board at least one time with three of the games being within two goals of their opponents. His coaching brought out the scoring from graduate student Sam Clark and freshman Andrew Gerbaldo to each finish with three goals and seven points.

During the 2023 season, Martin took on a hybrid role helping both the Men's and Women's soccer teams throughout the year. He worked with both teams forwards on skill development and strategy on the field. He helped freshman Jon-Michael Gordon find a spot on the MEC's All-Freshman team with four goals and two assists, while assisting Regan in offensive strategy.

Prior to joining the staff as a Graduate Assistant, Martin spent four seasons in a Cardinal uniform, playing in 65 games and starting 43 of them. In those our seasons, he finished with eight goals and three assists, totaling 19 points. He served as a team captain during his junior and senior seasons, and helped lead the team back to the MEC Tournament during the 2022 season, when they fell to the University of Charleston in the MEC Semifinals.

Martin graduated from Wheeling University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration in December of 2022 and obtained a Masters in Business Administration in May of 2025.
