Gage Ponsetti

Gage Ponsetti enters his second season with the Wheeling University Men's Lacrosse team in 2024.

In 2023, Ponsetti worked primarily with the Cardinals defense, and helped Wheeling put together a strong defensive effort. Under his watch, Wheeling goalkeepers had a .530 save percentage, making 261 saves, compared to just a .496 save percentage for their opponents. He helped Cardinal goalkeeper Austin Hall put together a strong season, making 232 saves and finishing with a .520 save percentage in net.

2021-2022- served as a Graduate assistant at Alfred University, coaching the goalies and assisting with defense as well as recruiting and day to day operations, sat on the Graduate Assistant Leadership Committee, Coached Harvest Lacrosse Club team.

2019-2020- Started in 17 games over 2 seasons at Alfred University recording 89 saves, with a career high 16 saves against Ohio Northern.
2017- Played at Division 1 Siena college as a freshman, played in 10 games making 7 starts for a total of 385 minutes of play, recorded 52 saves and 16 ground balls with a season high 16 saves against Marist College.

Prior to College- Attended Penn Yan Academy, 4 year member of the lacrosse team under the coaching excellence of Brian Hobart and Harry Queener, Was a 4x Section 5 champion as well as state runner-up in 2016, was named section 5 sportsman of the year as well as all section 2nd team finished career with a 64.5% save percentage and 341 total career saves.
