Evan Morrissey enters his second season on the men's basketball staff at Wheeling University in 2020-21.
Morrissey helped the Cardinals finish in fifth place in the Mountain East after being picked last in the preseason coaches poll. Wheeling ended the season 14-13 overall, made an appearance in the MEC Tournament Quarterfinals, and guard Jordan Reid was named an All-MEC Second Team selection.
Morrissey came to Wheeling after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside during the 2018-19 season. He assisted in all facets of the Ranger program, including player development, recruitment and the monitoring of academic progress. Morrissey was the team's student assistant coach in 2016-17 and served the prior three seasons as a team manager.
Morrissey also served as an assistant coach at Seymour High School under longtime coach Jon Murphy in 2017 and worked as a skills coach at Murphy's Sunrise Skills Academy. He has also worked camps at the University of Wisconsin, St. Norbert College and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
A native of Seymour, Wisconsin, Morrissey graduated from Wisconsin-Parkside with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management in 2017.
