Andrew Bobalik, brought on by Head Coach Danny Sancomb, is an East Liverpool, Ohio native and 2011 graduate of Youngstown State University. He also holds a Masters of Science Degree in Physical Education from Canisius College. Bobalik has great experience on both sides of the clipboard being one of only six players from East Liverpool to be a 4-year letter winner. In his senior season he averaged 27 points per game, breaking the school record of points in a single game with 47, and was Second Team All-Ohio.
He has been on the coaching staff of two High School programs at Chaney High School, and The Heartland Christian School. At Heartland he took their 4-16 record and coached them to an impressive 18-5 season just two years after heading the program.
Prior to that, Bobalik coached AAU Basketball for four years, working with each level from 15U through 17U. His 16U team finished 5th place in the country with an overall 44-6 record in the 2012 AAU National Tournament in Orlando, Florida.
“Coach Bobalik is going to add a lot to our program. He has great passion and energy. He has the ability to make players better,” Men’s Coach Danny Sancomb said about his new right hand man.
Bobalik himself is very eager to start, saying that he “feels very at home at WJU due to the administration, coaches, staff, and players” and is “looking forward to the start of the season.”
