Dominic Clegg enters his second season as the special teams coordinator and linebacker coach in 2020.

Clegg's linebacker unit in 2019 featured All-MEC Honorable Mention James Reese III. Reese III left his mark during the season-opener against West Liberty, when he posted 13 tackles (11 solo) with 5.0 tackles for loss and three quarterback sacks.

Both of Clegg's units were instrumental in the program's first-ever varsity win in the team's 27-20 win at Concord. Linebacker Ryan Gorman intercepted two passes, including one inside the five-yard line, while kicker/punter Matthew Greenwood made field goals from 26 & 34 yards out and averaged 45.1 yards on eight punts. Gorman and Greenwood were later named the MEC Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

Clegg joined Head Coach Zac Bruney's staff after spending two seasons at Kent State as a defensive graduate assistant. Clegg worked with all aspects of the defense with an emphasis on the secondary and line backers. He helped develop Golden Flash linebacker Jim Jones, who was an All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection in 2018.

Prior to Kent State, Clegg served as a defensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, Ohio Dominican.  He coached outside linebackers and safeties at ODU, while earning a master's degree in sport management.

Clegg also coached at his high school alma mater, Bishop Watterson with the secondary and quarterbacks.

As a linebacker and safety at Ohio Dominican, Clegg was a All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) linebacker and also earned Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2014 as a double major in education and mathematics and received his master's degree in sports & recreation management from Kent State in 2019.
