Chris Charles enters his second season as a Graduate Assistant on Zac Bruney's coaching staff during the 2026 season. He will serve as an assistant wide receivers coach and assist in other areas as well. Charles previously served as a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Administration during the 2024-2025 season.
During the 2025 season, Charles was primarily responsible for helping with the wide receiver group, a position he played with the Cardinals in 2024. Charles would help a young Cardinal wide receiver core break out on the field, with each of the team's top two receivers finishing with breakout seasons. Altogether, the Cardinal passing game averaged 222.3 yards per game during the season, and had four separate instances of finishing with three touchdowns.
Charles wrapped up his playing career with the Cardinals during the 2024 season. Charles was the team's second leading receiver during the year, finishing with 40 catches for 586 yards and seven touchdowns. He would average just over 53 yards per game and 14 yards per catch as he rounded out a strong career in the MEC. He would put up a season-best four catches for 104 yards against Fairmont State on Homecoming, and pulled in two touchdowns against Concord in November.
Chris Charles graduated from West Liberty University in 2024 and is currently pursuing his MBA at Wheeling University.
