Charles Westbrook enters his first season as a Graduate Assistant on Zac Bruney's Wheeling Football staff for the 2024 season. Westbrook will be working primarily with the safeties and the team's secondary.
Westbrook comes to Wheeling after playing the last three seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL). In 2024, Westbrook served as the starting running back for the AAL2 Champion Wheeling Miners in their inaugural season. It marked his second season playing Arena Football, and his fifth professional season overall. Prior to the AFL, Westbrook spent three seasons in the professional German Football League.
As a collegiate player, Westbrook played four seasons as a running back split between division I Western Illinois and Mountain East Conference (MEC) rival West Liberty, where he amassed over 2,000 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns in his career. Westbrook earned his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology in 2018 before heading to professional football.
Westbrook is currently pursuing his Master's in Business Administration at Wheeling University. He is the father to a beautiful baby girl.
