UPJ vs Cal. (Pa.) - Recap

WHEELING, W.Va. – The No. 4 University of Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats defeated the fifth seeded California (Pa.) Vulcans, 3-1, in Friday’s third quarterfinal match. UPJ advances to Saturday’s second semifinal match, where they will face the winner of Friday's last quarterfinal match, Wheeling Jesuit University versus Shaw University.
 
UPJ took the first set, 25-19, before Cal (Pa.) tied the match at one apiece with a 25-21 set two victory. The Mountain Cats would rattle off two consecutive wins in the third and fourth sets, clinching their spot in the semifinals.
 
Kendall Mahony paced UPJ with 15 kills on 32 attacks (.344 hitting percentage). Anna Johns added 10 kills while Devan Orr finished with a team best 22 digs. Allison Mondorff assisted on 38 attacks on the evening.
 
Danielle Hayes led Cal with 15 kills, and Megan Litorborski finished with 33 assists and 19 digs.
