No. 7 West Chester Pulls off Upset of No. 2 Pitt-Johnstown

WHEELING, W.Va. – In almost a carbon copy of the opening match, lower No. 7-seeded West Chester University pulled off a 3-1 upset over No. 2 University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
 
The Lady Cats (29-7) captured the opening set, 25-22, but the Golden Rams (26-10) gathered their efforts to sweep the next three sets (25-16, 25-15, 25-23).
 
West Chester keyed off its .384 hitting percentage over the final three sets including .538 for the pivotal third set for its victory. The Rams also held the Lady Cats to a .147 attack percentage.
 
No. 7 West Chester will face No. 6 Gannon in the Regional semifinal on Friday, Dec. 4, starting at 5 p.m.
