No. 6 Gannon Rallies Past No. 3 Shippensburg

WHEELING, W.Va. – In an exciting first match of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional, No. 6 Gannon University rallied from a set down and captured a 3-1 upset of No. 3 Shippensburg University.

The Golden Knights (23-10) fell behind, 25-10, before they tied the match, 25-19, at a set against the Raiders (30-9). Trailing 23-16 in set three, Gannon rattled off the next eight points, 24-23, and outlasted Shippensburg for the 27-25 set win. The lower-seeded Golden Knights completed the victory with a 25-22 fourth set win.

Gannon will move to face the winner of the second match between No. 2 Pittsburgh-Johnstown and No. 7 West Chester.
