COLUMBUS, OH - After the first day of cancellation of the Ohio Dominican Invitational, the Wheeling University Women's Golf team placed sixth overall out of ten teams. The team as a whole shot 46 over par in the one round that was played.

Leading the rankings for the women once again was junior Sawyer Hobbs. She tied for ninth place, going eight over par. Hobbs picked up a bogey on the first, third, and sixth holes on the front nine. She then went for par on the remaining holes. On the back nine, Hobbs hit par on five holes, picking up bogeys on three holes and one double bogey.

Another veteran that once again placed second on the team is junior Tilly Jones. Jones was able to par three holes on the front nine as she went six over. On the back nine she parred all but two holes, leaving her five over par. She finished 11 over par and tied for 18th place.

Junior Dorthea Evebo finished in third on the team and tied for 26th place. She hit two pars on the front nine, then hit the Cardinals' sole birdie of the day on hole seven to finish seven over on the front nine. She picked up four pars on the back nine and finished it six over par. All together she finished 13 over par.

To complete the Cardinals' top four, sophomore Ivana Alvarez finished third on her team and tied for 32nd overall. On holes one, two, four, and six, she hit for par. She completed the front nine, being six over par. On the back nine she hit three pars and went eight over par. In total she went 14 over par.

The Cardinals will be in action next in the West Chester University of Pennsylvania at Gettysburg, PA. Tee time will be at 9 a.m., and it will take place on September 21 and 22.
