Fairmont WV.- Coming off of their first loss in 66 days the Wheeling Men's and Women's swim teams (7-2, 3-1), (6-3, 1-2) look to bounce back as they head to Fairmont West Virginia to take on the Fairmont State Falcons Men's and Women's swim teams (0-4, 0-3), (3-2, 2-1). 

This will be the first time these conference foes will meet head to head. They did both participate in the WV state games to start the year though. In the WV state games on the Men's side, Wheeling totaled 523 points to Fairmont State's 198. If the Men take care of business, they should come away with the win. On the Women's side only 5 points separated these 2 teams. This will be anyone's meet and will come down to who can execute better.  

The Falcons and Cardinals will be very familiar with each other by the time the MEC championships come around. They will also meet on January 23rd for Wheeling's Senior Night. This is a tri meet with Fairmont State and Bethany College as well. Wheeling has met Bethany twice this year and has had two resounding wins against them with both the Men and Women scoring over 100 and holding the Bison under 10 each time.  

Although Wheeling lost to Lenoir Rhyne in their last meet there were some Cardinals with great individual performances. Archie Piggott had three top 2 finishes and Meiko Schonekes, Jordan Krafft, and Nathaniel Oliviares all had individual 2nd place finishes as well. Gabby Baiano and Lydie Sprecher each had two first place finishes each and Grace Moorley, Androniki Chrystafi, Mikayla Smitley, Giulia Liberti, and Laci Langmeyer all had second place finishes.
