Wheeling, W. Va. - The Wheeling University Football team is on a bye week, but the Wheeling University Athletics Department has announced a new experience for fans on Gameday. The department will be selling Wheeling Football Tailgate passes for $25 a car, allowing fans a prime tailgating spot before they head to Bishop Schmitt Field for kick-off. You can purchase your tailgate pass for the Homecoming Game against West Virginia Wesleyan now by clicking HERE.
Gates for the tailgate will open three hours prior to kick-off, giving fans time to get on campus and enjoy their tailgate before the game. There will be two separate spots for tailgates, one accommodating fans of the visiting team and the other for the Wheeling Football team fans. The visitor's tailgate will be located in the back half of the Sara Tracy lot, giving fans a clear pathway to walk down to the visiting side bleachers. Â Fans for the tailgate can also access the Bishop Schmitt Field grandstand restrooms before heading into the game. The home tailgate will be located on the side parking lot of the Alma Grace McDonough Center. Fans at this tailgate can walk across the parking lot to the home bleachers, while accessing the bathrooms inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center.
Fans can purchase their tailgate passes before each home game online by visiting our Fan Central Tab and clicking GET TICKETS. All online purchases are subject to surcharges and fees and fans will be asked to give their name, make/model of their car, and license plate number. Fans who pre-purchase tickets will receive a QR code on their phone that they will show the tailgate attendant when they pull up for entry. Tailgate passes can also be purchased on the day of the game either by scanning the QR codes located around the parking lot or by paying cash with the attendant at the lot.
