Fairmont, W. Va. – Ahead of the 2025 Mountain East Conference (MEC) Acrobatics & Tumbling Championships, the conference held their annual event finals. The Wheeling University Acrobatics & Tumbling team would make history, sending their trio pass as the first ever individual event to qualify. Gianna Bjorn, Emma Jackson, and Courtney Hurst would compete for the Cardinals against some of the best of the best from the conference.
They would compete in the Trio Pass event against West Liberty and Fairmont State in what would be the fifth to final event of the day as they took the floor at the Joe Retton Arena. The trio would be the first of the three teams to compete and put up a score of 5.525 in the event, flipping across the mat. They would finish third among the three teams in competition, with Fairmont State winning the event with a score of 8.275 while West Liberty finished with a score of 7.175 to round out the event. It was the Cardinal's first experience at the championship event in their inaugural season, as they laid a foundation for success as they continue to grow the program into 2026 and beyond.
The Wheeling University Acrobatics & Tumbling team now heads into the off-season as they look to continue to grow the program.
