Wheeling, W. Va. – Wheeling Women's Swim lost a close one to Penn Behrend by a final score of 132-127, but they can take lots of positives away from the meet because it was close and a lot of their swimmers had good days.
Gabby Baiano had herself a day finishing first in the 1000-yard freestyle, first in the 500-yard freestyle, and first in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The day would start off with Olivia finishing first in the 400-yard medley relay with
Marra Johnson finishing second.
In the 200-yard freestyle
Grace Moorley and
Caitlin Oltman would finish first and second with times of 2:05.52 and 2:09.55. The 100-yard breaststroke would be won my
Jade Miller who would record a time of 1:12.45 and
Marra Johnson would come in first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:28.87. In the 50-yard freestyle
Sofia Castillo would come in first with a time of 27.32 and
Marra Johnson would yet again place first this time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:44.80.
The final win the day for Wheeling was
Jade Miller who came in first in the 100-yard butterfly finishing with a time of 1:03.36. The next meet for the women's swim team will be on February 14th through the 17th with the MEC/GMAC Swimming & Diving Championships.
