Wheeling Volleyball Set to Host First Round of Cardinal Kids/Junior Cardinals Clinics

Wheeling, W. Va. – As the offseason rolls on, the Wheeling University Volleyball team is giving back to the next generation of Volleyball players. They will host the first round of the Cardinal Kids and Junior Cardinal Volleyball camps on Sunday, February 13th, and Sunday, February 20th. The Junior Cardinal camp will run from noon to 2 PM and the Cardinal Kids will run from 3 PM to 4:30 PM.

It is a chance for the program to give back to the community and help foster interest in the game of Volleyball with the younger generation. Wheeling University head Volleyball coach Christy Benner is excited for the opportunity to bring Volleyball to the kids of the Ohio Valley as they continue to grow the sport.

"It is important for us to continue to host youth Volleyball clinics in order to continue to grow the sport in the Ohio Valley," said Benner. "I am excited to have the kids back on campus and to see them having fun."

The Junior Cardinals is a clinic suggested for kids aged 11-15 and will focus on more in-depth Volleyball skills. The camp will include the development of fundamental skills and will help campers obtain a better understanding of the game of Volleyball. The Cardinals players and coaches will help teach skills in passing, setting, hitting, and blocking. This camp is for the more experienced Volleyball player with the goal of helping them improve their overall game of Volleyball. Registration is $35 per participant, and the camp will take place inside the Alma Grace McDonough Center at Wheeling University.

The Cardinal Kids camp is for the younger kids who are just learning the game of Volleyball and will run from 3 PM to 4:30 pm. This camp is recommended for kids ages 10 and younger and serves as an introduction to the sport of Volleyball. Cardinals players and coaches will be helping to introduce kids to the game of Volleyball through fun and interactive drills. This camp is for the inexperienced volleyball player who is looking to have fun and learn a new sport. Registration for this camp is $25 per athlete and will be held in the Alma Grace McDonough Center at Wheeling University.

You still have time to register for both of these camps coming up in just one week. For more information, and to register, visit wheeling volleyball.totalcamps.com.
