Women’s Soccer to Host First Winter ID Camp

Wheeling, W. Va. - The off-season is in full swing for the Wheeling University Women's Soccer team as they prepare for the upcoming 2022 season. This Saturday, the Cardinals are looking to give back to the community as they host the first of four Women's Soccer ID Camps this winter and spring. It is the first in a series of four different ID camps hosted by the team this summer, with the other dates set for March 12th, March 26th, and April 9th. 

Wheeling University Women's Soccer ID camps are the perfect way for a recruit to experience what Wheeling women's soccer is all about. Camp attendees Players will receive coaching from Cardinal's players and coach's as they improve upon their skills while seeing what it is like to be playing in a top Division II college program. The cost for registration is $175 dollars and gives the campers admission to the camp as well as a free camp t-shirt. 

The day will begin with registration at 8:30 AM followed by the first training session an hour later at 9:30 AM. Following the first training session, campers will be given lunch and a tour of the campus before the second training session later in the afternoon. Things wrap up at 4 PM and all campers are invited to attend the Men's Basketball game on Saturday afternoon when they take on rival West Liberty with tip-off at 4 PM. 

Head Women's Soccer coach Theo Egbele is excited to welcome the campers on campus and get to work with the community. 

"We are calling on all future Cardinals to attend our ID Camp this Saturday," said Egbele. "It is a chance for players who are looking to experience what a college soccer program is like while taking a look at what Wheeling University has to offer."
