Banks/Yost Grab Pair of Wins at Bethany Dual Meet

Bethany,W. Va.  – The Wheeling University Men's Swimming team competed in their first dual meet of the season Friday night. The Cardinals dropped the meet 72-44, but had strong individual showings. Each of their two swimmers picked up two wins on the day as they continue their strong seasons in the pool.

Ethan Banks began the dual meet, competing in the 1000 Yard Freestyle for the first distance event. He produced a season-best time of 11:03.44 and earned his team bind individual points. Four events later, Banks was back at it in the 100 Yard Backstroke and picked up his second win of the day with a time of 1:03.78. After a strong showing in his season debut, Banks was back at it again tonight as he continues to shine as he continues through dual season. His PR in the 1000 Yard was his top performance of the night and he looks to continue leasing the way.

Nathan Yost was the other Cardinal swimmer, leading the way by competing in three different events. Yost's first win of the day came in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.25, his season best for the event. His second win was in the 409 Yard Individual Medley, an event he competed in for the first time this season. He swam a 5:00.79 as he set a strong mark to build off of as the season goes on. His only non win of the day came in his first event when he swam in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:52.40.

The Wheeling University Men's Swimming team have next week off before returning to the pool on Friday, November 11th, when they host Salem at 5 PM.
